Elm Veneer

The original tree species of elm wood is Ulmus spp., with core varieties including American Elm (Ulmus americana), European White Elm (Ulmus laevis), and Chinese Elm (Ulmus pumila). It is a deciduous tree of the genus Ulmus in the Ulmaceae family, and a classic timber species with both historical heritage and practical value. It typically grows to a height of 18–30 meters, with a trunk diameter of 0.6–1.2 meters, and is natively distributed in eastern North America (Minnesota, Illinois, USA), central Europe (France, Germany), and northern/western China (Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu) and other temperate plains and hills. In China, it has a history of application spanning thousands of years (such as "elm wood furniture" in classical furniture).

To break the resource and processing limitations of elm wood’s classic texture, MOGANSHAN VENEER (Moganshan Engineered Wood) relies on bionic recombination and precision drying technology to achieve accurate replication of natural elm wood: it not only restores the heartwood transition color of "light brown-dark brown" and rare grains such as "feather grain" and "water wave grain" but also reduces the drying cracking rate to less than 5% through wood structure optimization; at the same time, the veneer utilization rate is increased to over 85%, avoiding defects such as "hollowing and knots" of natural elm wood. The elm veneer created by this technology can be widely applied to scenarios such as new Chinese-style furniture, hotel wall panels, and retro-style cabinets, allowing the classic elm texture that originally relied on scarce natural resources to meet modern high-end decoration needs with more stable performance and a more affordable cost.
